Context

Caring for the inner child, memorabilia and a portal to the past – what the Treasure Box contains.

The main theme of «Tales of the Golden Apples» was caring – with each artist choosing an angle that seemed interesting to them. So, Danila Shozy focused on caring for the inner child and created the Treasure Box mural. This intimate work sends the artist into the past, and invites the audience to interpret the objects in their own way, returning to their own memories.

Material: aerosol cans

Ital. Mural — wall

Monumental wall painting created on a faсade or a blank wall of a building or any other urban architectural objects.
The artist and his partner created the mural in the course of a week. The work was done using the «trompe-l'œil» technique (from the French trompe-l'œil - deceptive eye, deceptive appearance). This is Danila's recognizable style - his canvases and murals depict objects in the most detailed and realistic way, deceiving the viewer and violating the laws of physics.
Danila Shozy and his partner Aste at work, summer 2022. All work was created using aerosol cans.
The «Treasure Box» depicts artifacts, each of which carries a story that is personally important for the artist. The box contains an old glass bottle, a pendant carved by the artist's brother, a porcupine quill brought from Sri Lanka, a piece of ammonite from Adygea and a fragment of a tile that decorated a temple in Samarkand.
